The Coast With the Most (PAGE 2)

The 5.6% net membership increase reported July 1st  in a California Chatter article titled, The coast with the most,” is incorrect. The membership percentage in the Continental Congress State Regent’s Report repeated the number (see California State Regents Report posted July 28.) Please note that the Proceedings for the 121st Continental Congress reflects our outstanding achievement of 7.6% membership growth, from 8,803 members in July 2010 to 9,474 in June 2012.

Following is the OFFICIAL SCORE and report from 2010-2012 State Registrar Jan Gordon for the New York versus California Membership Challenge.

Congratulations one and all, and thank you Jan for setting the record straight!

Karon Jarrard
Honorary State Regent

CALIFORNIA IS “THE COAST WITH THE MOST”

For when the One Great Scorer comes
To mark against your name
He writes – not that you won or lost
But how you played the Game.

Quotes from the team coaches

“Win or lose, I am THRILLED to have had this opportunity to have some fun with you ladies!”   … Denise Van Buren, NY State Regent

“We have benefited from the competition. DAR members love contests. We are both WINNERS!” …Karon Jarrard, CA Honorary State Regent

Game over! The Coast with the Most champion is California in a stunning victory over New York. The winner was determined by the highest percentage of net gain in membership over the past two years.

FINAL SCORE: CSSDAR 7.6% — NYSSDAR 2.5%

State regents and registrars made up a wonderful coaching staff and cheerleaders. However, the real pros are the team of women who diligently work with DAR membership every day.  Thank you to an outstanding California membership eam!
