To Submit Chapter Chatter to the Clarion

  • Chapter Chatter is a section meant to share your chapter’s activities with other Daughters in the state of California.  This is a great place to exchange new ideas and let everyone know how your chapter is supporting our Society’s objectives.
  • Send your 250 word maximum article in the body of your email to clarion@californiadar.org.  Be sure to include your name, chapter and contact details in your email. Each chapter may only submit one Chatter article per month to the Clarion. Including a headline is helpful.  If you don’t include a headline one will be written for you. If submission is from someone other than the Chapter Regent, please be sure to get her approval on your article prior to submission and copy her on your email.
  • You may submit one photo along with your article as an attachment.  Photo formats accepted are jpeg, png and gif.  Please size your photo for the web and do not send images over 1mb. Photos should be no larger than 500 x 500 pixels and of good visual quality. Blurry or distorted images will not be published.
  • The Clarion editor reserves the right to edit articles for spelling and grammar, and to place articles in the Clarion as most appropriate. Articles submitted with word counts over the allowed limit will not be accepted and will be returned for revision.  Chapter Chatter articles may appear the week they are submitted or anytime after that, depending on the number of submissions that week.
  • Reminder: Per the CSSDAR Non-circularization Policy, the Clarion is not permitted to accept articles that are meant for the purpose of inviting Daughters to chapter specific events or for fundraising purposes, unless you have obtained permission from the State Regent. The Clarion can accept articles about the event after they have taken place. (Please see the CSSDAR State Handbook for more information.)

NB: Do not submit text articles as PDF or highly formatted text.  Due to the way the web technology functions, all articles are converted to plain text prior to placement in the Clarion and then follow the Clarion web style.
