REGISTRAR MISSION: MEMBERSHIP

Alert to all chapter registrars!!  If you attended the April “Meet the State Officers” meetings, you heard this officer talk about our move to use the NSDAR e-Membership database as our sole source for the California membership database. This saves you and the State Society from double work and eliminates errors due to converting information to a second database.

To make this work, it is essential that chapter registrars update e-Membership as soon as there is any change in the data for one of your members (phone number, email address, mailing address). This doesn’t happen automatically.  The chapter registrar must update e-Membership. If you don’t update e-Membership promptly, your member will be out of touch with the State and National Societies.

National must be informed of new chapter officers, who are then entered into the NSDAR system. Once that is done, send your name, national number, current chapter office, chapter name and state of membership to organizing@dar.org, requesting an e-Membership password.  Your password will be emailed to you along with directions for locating the site.  There is a useful tutorial on the use of e-Membership on the site, and the state registrar will be glad to help anyone who requests assistance.

Sending a note or report to the state corresponding secretary or the state registrar no longer gets the job done and is no longer necessary. So save yourself extra steps and get on the e-Membership bandwagon today!!
