Linares Chapter Celebrates Flag Day

Linares Chapter, San Diego Chapter SAR, Red White & Blue Society C.A.R., joined together to participate in the second annual Flag Day celebration aboard the USS Midway Museum in San Diego. Linares Chapter distributed 500 flags and Flag Codes to the general public.  All chapters of District XIV were represented, and State Regent Karon Jarrard joined in the fun. Linares Chapter Regent Lillian Leslie presented to Mac McLaughlin, CEO of the Midway, a beautiful pictorial history of last year’s event. Also presented was an 8’x12′ American flag which was raised by Flag Day Chairman Paula-Jo Cahoon and her grandson Cooper Millhouse. As the flag was raised, the SAR provided a musket salute from the catwalk high above the Flight Deck. The Lake Arrowhead Mountain Fife and Drum Corps performed prior to the event on the Hangar Deck and the Marine Corps Quintet performed on the Flight Deck.  The Marine Corps and SAR provided Color Guard.  There was a standing room only crowd all wearing red, white, and blue.
