Dr. Beanes

At the regular chapter meeting on April 1, Fernanda Maria members enjoyed a presentation by Dr. Beanes about the Star Spangled Banner.Dr. Beanes (interpreted by Daniel Slosberg) was a friend of Francis Scott Key and was with him in Baltimore when he completed the Star Spangled Banner. Dr. Beanes  performed several musical selections using a saltbox, fife, fiddle, violin, and drum as he told us about the historical events surrounding that time period. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed his presentation and learned much about the writing and development of the Star Spangled Banner.
