Chapter Chatter: San Antonio Chapter Collects/Donates Items for Ontario Bob Hope USO

The San Antonio Chapter of Upland/Ontario, in a two-week period, collected items to assist the Ontario Bob Hope USO located at the Ontario Airport. During the summer over 6,000 troops come through the USO on their way to Fort Erwin and Twenty-Nine Palms. San Antonio Daughters were generous with their time and money.

The totals contributed are:

Toothbrushes – 347
Toothpaste – 129
ChapStick – 51
Sunscreen -20
Foot Powder – 5
Foot Cream – 15
Men’s Disposal Razors – 76
Ladies Disposal Razors – 36
Dental Floss – 10
Q-tips – 1

Julie Scheuermann, Diane Reyes, Kathy Holloway, and Sue Noice arrived at the USO on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm when it was 104 degrees to deliver the items wearing their red. Every Friday, DAR ladies are encouraged to wear red – RED stands for Remember Everyone Deployed.

“I am so proud of the ladies in our chapter who stepped forward and either ordered online and sent to my house or personally brought items by my house. We were told that they had just given out their last toothbrush the day before we delivered 347 toothbrushes to them. Thank you, ladies!”, exclaims Regent Holloway.
