Chapter Chatter: Lake Tahoe Daughters Place U.S. Flags Amid Freezing Temperatures

The Lake Tahoe Chapter Daughters usually participate in the Veterans Day Celebration at the American Legion Post 795. However, due to the pandemic, this celebration was cancelled. The alternative plan was to place flags on the over 600 veterans’ grave markers in the local cemetery. But the several inches of this season’s first snowfall made that plan impossible as well. But that did not deter our DAR daughters!

On Monday, November 9, 2020, amid snow and freezing temperatures, our Daughters honored our fallen veterans by assisting the volunteers from the American Legion Post 795 in placing flags along the pathways at the Happy Homestead Cemetery in South Lake Tahoe, California. The Lake Tahoe Chapter Daughters placed over 600 flags along the pathways that had been cleared of snow.
