Chapter Chatter: John Greenleaf Whittier Members Provide TLC for Regent’s Old English Sheepdog, Bella

On August 11, 2020, the Executive Board of the John Greenleaf Whittier Chapter met to discuss the 2020-2021 budget. Regent Diana Arnold was presented with an American flag flown over the DAR Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Bella, Diana’s Old English Sheepdog who was in attendance, benefited from the expertise of three Daughters who are retired RNs. Bella had had multiple lesions, which had been previously excised. The sutures were to be removed by her owners. Alas, this was not the case. As nurses always do, they went to work. With a 105-pound dog, it took one to hold the patient, one to the hold the surgical lamp and the third to remove the sutures. Success! Afterwards, Bella was happy to pose with her medical team by our Chapter Banner.
