Chapter Chatter: Gold Trail Chapter’s Spring Fling

Gold Trail Daughters hosted their first Spring Fling on May 4, 2021. This was an encore of the chapter’s fall successful Day of Service donation drive-thru during much more restrictive pandemic protocols.

Again, as in the fall Project Patriot, Service for Veterans and Community Classroom saw each of their vehicles packed to overflow status with wonderful donations. In addition the Women’s Issue committee collected patriotic fabric to continue making quilts for vets at Johnson Hall-California Veterans Home in Yountville; Historical Preservation committee collected flags to be retired by local Boy Scout troops; Conservation committee collected big money for “Pennies for Pines”; the American Spirit committee raffled a donated patriotic quilt to a new subscriber, and State Regent Susan Broderick awarded Gold Trail Daughters CSSDAR certificates from March’s virtual state conference.

It was such a pleasure to see everyone in person, all vaccinated, still observing appropriate protocols. The day’s conclusion saw thirty-five Daughters sitting in the shade enjoying a picnic lunch and the camaraderie that comes with shared service to DAR and our community
