Announcement: New Virtual Support for Supplementals and New Applications

Free, virtual or telephonic personal consultations on new or supplemental applications by DAR trained volunteers are now available for members. The Lineage Research Committee will assist with new member applications issues and the Volunteer Genealogists Committee will assist with Supplementals. Both committees will share a pool of trained volunteers. Volunteers and members-in-need will be paired for virtual or telephonic conference sessions. The Volunteer in discussion with the member will chose the virtual platform or communicate via telephone. The goal would be to discuss genealogical roadblocks and challenges. Registrars are welcome to use this service or refer members. Information on proper completion of applications will be provided plus tips for research to locate proper documentation. The consultation would include increasing awareness of DAR resources and training. More information is available on the Lineage Research and Volunteer Genealogists Committee webpages. Questions, to volunteer or sign up for a session on new member applications, please contact Kitty Watters, National Vice Chair Research Advocacy, at: lineageresearch2021@gmail.com

For questions, to volunteer or sign up for a session regarding supplemental applications, please contact Sue King, National Vice Chair Supplemental Research Advocacy, Volunteer Genealogists Committee at DARvirtualsupps@gmail.com
