Announcement: CSSDAR Library Book Club FINDING DOROTHY

The August selection for the California Library Book Club will be “Finding Dorothy” by Elizabeth Letts.

This richly imagined novel tells the story behind The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the book that inspired the iconic film, through the eyes of author L. Frank Baum’s intrepid wife, Maud.

The author of two New York Times bestselling nonfiction books, Elizabeth Letts is a master at discovering and researching a rich historical story and transforming it into a page-turner. Finding Dorothy is the result of Letts’ journey into the amazing lives of Frank and Maud Baum. Written as fiction but based closely on the truth, Elizabeth Letts’ new book tells a story of love, loss, inspiration, and perseverance, set in America’s heartland.

There will be two opportunities to discuss the book with other California DAR members on Zoom. The Zoom discussion will be on Wednesday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m. and the second meeting at 7:00 p.m. Sign up for your choice of meeting times by emailing this officer.
