Announcement: Constitution Week Scrapbook Contest!

California Daughters, now that Thanksgiving is over, you are undoubtedly swamped with December holiday planning and even maybe finalizing those Constitution Week Poster Contest entries, but you should also start thinking about creating a scrapbook of your Constitution Week activities!! I have already received a scrapbook, and I know of several other chapters that are planning to submit scrapbooks, so I heartily encourage you to make one for your chapter (or district!).

Deadline: Entries must be postmarked to the state chair no later than February 1, 2022.
Send to:
Sue McLaurin
5936 Etiwanda Ave., Unit 1
Tarzana, CA 91356

Only mailed entries accepted; No email submissions.
All entries submitted after the deadline will be returned unopened.

Submit one copy of your scrapbook. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope or box with the same amount of postage used to mail in your entry. Entries with inadequate postage will not be judged or returned.

The winning entry will be taken to the State Conference for display. All other scrapbooks will be returned to the chapter (or district). Should there be five or more entries, awards will be given to the first, second, and third places.

Judging Criteria:
* Originality (25%)—Creativity and originality of the ideas presented.
* Publicity (25%)—Media coverage: How well does the scrapbook promote the chapter’s Constitution Week activities?
* Contents (25%)—Type, number, and quality of Constitution Week activities.
* Neatness (20%)—Organization and presentation of materials. Activities should be properly organized in chronological order or logical manner. Photos should be neat and creative.
* Binding/Cover (5%)—Cover and pages intact. Layout should be interesting, attention getting, and balanced.

Scrapbook Guidelines:
* Please keep to 8-1/2 x 11 inches. Either reduce longer articles or cut and paste articles on several 8-1/2 x 11 sheets of paper.
( More paper is not necessarily better. Please be aware of paper waste and shipping costs. Do not add additional paper with extra large fonts if not needed.
* Please remember newspaper articles should be copied—do not put original newspaper articles in your scrapbook.

There you have it, ladies! I encourage you to collect your Constitution Week material and submit your scrapbook!

Please call me (818-919-6820), or email me with any questions.

In patriotic service, we can…and we will rise and shine in service to America!
