Calling all California Daughters,

With a successful “Constitution Week” behind us for this year, we now look forward to finding and encouraging those creative young artists and those 18 and above to submit entries for the 2023 Constitution Week Poster Contest. Our California winner from the 2022 Contest took first place at National last year!

This is a National Contest open to anyone of any age. Traditionally, National has chosen artwork submitted by younger artists. However, all who feel “the call” to celebrate our Constitution with a poster submission are most welcome! Please first consult the entry form and rules on the National Website at the following link:

Constitution Week Poster Contest 2023

Like last year, we again have permission from our State Regent to create our own Poster Contest Award Categories for state recognition. Prize certificates and ribbons will be awarded for First, Second, Third Places plus Honorable Mention in the following categories:
5-9 year olds; 10-12 year olds; 13-17 year olds; 18 and above.
From this group will be chosen a First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention winners for the official state awards as outlined by National with the First Place entry going to the Division for the National competition. All prize winning posters will be displayed at the State Conference in March 2023.

Please make certain the entry form is filled out completely for each artist, and a parent’s signature is affixed for the artists under 18. Non-DAR members must be sponsored by a chapter. So, daughters, armed with enthusiasm, get out there and bring those entries in!

Submission deadline for entries to the State Co-Chairs is January 15, 2023.
