Transcontinental Installations

With a strong transcontinental “I do,” Elizabeth Anne Schreiber Byers, a graduate student at the University of North Carolina, was installed from that campus, as a Daughter of the American Revolution in the San Diego Chapter recently.  During the ceremony both she and her mother, San Diego chapter member Betsy Schreiber, communicated “face-to-face” on iPads.

San Diego Regent Patricia Divjak declared the event a “first ever.”  Mother, daughter, and regent could talk directly to one another and attending chapter members could view and hear the ceremony.

Upon receiving her doctorate in German Literature, Byers intends to help her mother with research on three additional ancestral lines.
