State Regent’s Message: February 2022

Greetings Daughters!

Despite the fact that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this Groundhog Day, predicting six more weeks of winter, the tulip magnolia tree and daphne are beginning to bloom in my courtyard. Our end of year tasks, dues collection, CMR’s and final reporting of 2021 Service to America hours are in the rear view mirror. Surely, spring cannot be far behind !

One last reminder before we close the book on 2021 – please make another attempt to reach out if you still have Daughters who have not renewed their memberships – sometimes it is that last personal phone call that makes the difference in a member renewing, knowing that their dues help to support the missions of our Society. Let’s see if we can eliminate some of those upcoming drops.

Now, it is time to celebrate all that we have accomplished!!!

Celebrate we will, at the upcoming, in person, 114th CSSDAR State Conference, “Celebrating our Patriot Heritage” March 17-20th at the Irvine Marriott, Irvine CA! Please join us for an exciting Opening Night as we greet NSDAR President General Denise Doring VanBuren, Keynote Speaker, visiting State Regents from Oklahoma, Utah and Maine, award winners and guests. All members, old and new as well as prospective members are welcome!! Lots of wonderful events have been planned for you. Participating in the business of our Society, enjoying the many fun events to support clubs and projects, renewing precious, long time friendships and meeting new friends as we joyously come together, are, for this Regent, what make State Conference THE event to attend. Conference is one of those unique events at which you see the larger picture of the collective difference we each make in our chapters, districts and communities. My sincerest hope, is that you will come away inspired, as I do every year, with new ideas and plans. We have waited two long years to be together!

Information including a description and schedule of all events, registration and more is provided in the Call to Conference link located on the front page of the CSSDAR Members Website. Registration can be accomplished easily on the Web Store, again located on the website. Hotel rooms have been added to the CSSDAR room block so don’t delay in booking your room. The block closes on Feb 10th. If you have any difficulty, or have questions, please contact Chair Kathy Russo or State Vice Regent Sharon Maas.

This State Regent looks forward to welcoming you all!

With much DAR love and appreciation for all that you do and all that you are,

Susan
