State News: Thank You California Daughters

Thank you California Daughters for your support for the Lancaster
Administration State Regent’s Projects 2018-2020!

On November 16, 2020, a check for the final donation of $47,000 (monies raised during the second year of the administration ) was delivered to the Gary Sinise Foundation in Woodland Hills, CA, by Vice President General Adele Lancaster. Gifts designated over the past two year period were earmarked by the Lancaster Administration to help build Smart Homes for severely wounded veterans and their families. Gifts proved to be hugely successful.

The second year donation was unavoidably postponed from April to November 2020 due to the pandemic. Combining the first year’s funding of $65,000 in December 2019 , the grand total of contributions to the Gary Sinise Foundation amounted to $112,000, making it possible to support three homes!

State Vice Regent Sharon Maas, former State Recording Secretary Lillian Leslie, and former State Regent’s Project Chair Nancy Wiard accompanied Ms. Lancaster for the presentation. The group photographed with a Savannah, GA, backdrop are sitting on the bench which appeared in the Gary Sinise film, Forrest Gump. They enjoyed a tour of the foundation’s headquarters which recently reopened.

Sinise Headquarters staff joined them in saying, “The generosity of California Daughters truly…made a difference!”
