NEWS FROM TAMASSEE DAR SCHOOL- Sept 2013

The following letter was received from Tamassee DAR School this month:

Dear Tamassee Friends,

It is a great time to be a part of Tamassee DAR School.  Our school year has had an exceptional start.  Our enrollment is the largest since 2008.  I am pleased to share that as of this past weekend, we have six residential cottages open and filled with children.  Our fifty five students are doing well in school and are excited about participating in the many extracurricular activities.   Clogging, chorus, Boy Scouts, Junior American Citizens Club, sports, and JROTC are among the many activities nestled around school work, our Student Work Program, and a few that are even working off campus.

I hope that you will continue to uplift Tamassee, her students, and her staff in prayer as we work together to provide a safe, healthy, and enriched environment in which our students can focus on their future.

Below you will find a current copy of our Student Alignment for all cottages.  Should you have any questions or need more information, please feel free to contact us.

Every chapter is encouraged to pick up a State Regent’s recyclable grocery bag at the Corresponding Secretary’s table in the exhibit room at the fall Council meetings.  There are instructions with the bag regarding when, how, and what to send to the students at Pouch Cottage.  The State Regent encourages all chapters to send healthy snacks, gifts, cards, and school supplies to the boys at Pouch Cottage.  Please review the new list of students in this article so you can send age-appropriate items.  Don’t forget to visit the DAR School Committee sales table in the Council exhibit room to purchase items that directly support Pouch Cottage!
