Chapter Chatter: Three Generations Join La Cuesta Chapter

At the age of 95, Marjorie Ann Henry Juel, along with her three daughters and three granddaughters, became members of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution joining the La Cuesta Chapter.

According to Linda Buzgheia, and Marjorie’s 2nd child, the process of becoming members was a bucket list item! With the knowledge that one of Marjorie’s aunts had joined the DAR and their mom having just moved into an assisted living facility the family was motived to fulfill Marjorie’s dream.

Additionally, Linda states that her Mom and Dad, Marjorie and Ted Juel, are a part of “The Greatest Generation” who believe strongly in family, duty, and love of country. My mother was the second youngest of seven children. She enjoyed telling us stories about her family, growing up on a farm in Iowa. Her grandmother, who came to Iowa in a covered wagon, and about her grandfather, who was a drummer for the Union Army during the Civil War. Mom and dad were high school sweethearts. Dad, was a WW II Navy Veteran, they both graduated from Iowa State Teachers College marrying shortly after graduation.

La Cuesta Chapter welcomes this family who grew up believing in historic preservation, education and patriotism and looks forward to hearing more stories from Marjorie Ann Henry Juel!
