The Santa Margarita Chapter was honored to have Capt. Yuwnn Ho USMC speak at a recent meeting. First Vice Regent, Charla Boodry, was with the Carlsbad High School Guidance office twenty years ago when she escorted senior class president Yuwnn Ho to a chapter meeting to receive a DAR Good Citizen medal and certificate.

Capt. Ho spoke about his life – having been born in Malaysia, coming to the U.S. as a child, growing up in Carlsbad, as a junior interning during President Clinton’s term, graduating from UC Berkeley, joining the Marines, going to Hastings Law School, serving as a law clerk for the Counsel to President Bush, and proudly becoming an American Citizen. His is the story of living the American dream and giving back to the country he so loves.
