Chapter Chatter: Sacramento Chapter Serves Community

In keeping with Sacramento chapter members social distancing desires, not only were Janet Fulton, Vicki Klein and Laura Warren docents at the Woodland Stroll through History event, but also a member visited and brought magazines to residents of Eskaton Senior Living facility.

Vicki Klein and our regent donated books to the chapter’s Little Free Library. Glo Smith, with her granddaughter, CSSDAR State Librarian, Lisa Rose, her daughter Laura Trimberger, Regent of Lake Tahoe Chapter, and our regent in attendance, presented a book called America’s Flag Story to a local school. Diane Carriger-Ellis handcrafted more than 200 greeting cards for Veterans. Shoes were donated to Soles4Souls, and Dixie Christensen was the guest of an in-home hi-tea service.

All in all, some new ways of serving our community with spontaneous acts of kindness. And, everyone had a great time. Let’s do this all year long but especially next year on our DAR Day of service.
