Chapter Chatter: Rincon del Diablo Welcomes Wreaths Across America, Pins 25 Vietnam Veterans

The Rincon del Diablo Chapter was honored to be able to host the Wreaths Across America Mobile Education Exhibit in Poway, CA. Throughout the day, 80 guests were welcomed to learn more about Wreaths Across America; 25of those guests were Vietnam Veterans who received a special “Welcome Home” pinning ceremony. The veterans were overwhelmed, some brought to tears, and all were appreciative of the long overdue “thank you” given to them.

The Sons of the America Revolution Color Guard helped with the Opening Ceremony, and Rincon del Diablo was honored to have Mayor Steve Vaus as our speaker. The WAA Ambassadors, Deborah and DeLane Kellogg were professional, informative, and kind to our San Diego veterans. KUSI Allie Wagner interviewed Regent Jenn Halter, and the veterans who attended prior to the Opening Ceremony. Many San Diegans saw the segment and came to learn more about WAA.

A very, very special THANK YOU to Traci Merrill, our Committee Chair, and the entire WAA MEE Committee!!! It took a great number of people to make this happen and it was more successful than we could have imagined! We are already planning for a repeat next year!
