Chapter Chatter: Monserate Chapter Celebrates 50 Years of Service

On April 21, 2022, Monserate Chapter celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Fallbrook area chapter was founded with 16 members in 1972 and has grown to 65 members.

The occasion was attended by special guests including National Vice Chair Public Relations and Media, Stephanie Boyd, District XIV Director, Judith Reale, District Chaplain Mary Lou Montez, CSSDAR State Organizing Secretary Dawn Byrd-Beresovoy, as well as Honorary Chapter Regents Laverne Boyd, Carol Anderson, Past Chapter Regents Betty Mathias and Pat Hall and current Regent Suzanne Lemoine.

The brunch celebration included commemorative slide show presentations and patriot profile booklets, entertaining skits and a fun few rounds of DAR Jeopardy.

This past year Monserate Chapter participated in the American History Essay Content, celebrated Constitution Week with library displays and educational programs, donated funds to the Veterans Services Hospital in La Jolla for requested supplies, participated in Toys for Tots with the Marine Corps Reserve at Camp Pendleton, supported Wreaths Across America to remember our fallen veterans, restored graves at the Masonic Cemetery and wrote greeting cards to the WWII and Korean veterans on the April Honor Flight.

Monserate Chapter looks forward to promoting education, historic preservation and patriotism and providing continued meaningful service to our community and veterans.
