Chapter Chatter: El Redondo Chapter Staying Social Over the Summer

El Redondo Chapter is keeping in touch with each other over the summer by holding three informal gatherings on various days and different times to accommodate members’ varied schedules in June, July, and August, and we added an informational social on August 5, 2022. The goal was to help members become more comfortable using state and national websites and to entice them to want to go back and spend more time on them.

Members met for a hands-on workshop on how to access, and what to find on the NSDAR, CSSDAR, and El Redondo Chapter websites, plus various Facebook and Instagram pages. Facebook demonstrations included information on content and the kinds of help that can be found on the myriad of Facebook committee pages that exist, as well as what can be found on Instagram. Also included were some genealogical sites. We even did a search through Clarion articles to find El Redondo Chapter stories. Registrar Kitty Crowley and Regent Jackie Luca put the program together.

We all had fun, had a chance to visit as well as learn, and waded through the challenges of leading a group across the sites via computers, tablets, and phones, all at the same time. The attendees reported that they found it helpful and learned some things. More sessions are planned.
