Barbara Hellesoe and her husband Bruce Hellesoe and Cynthia Larson delivered $3400 in clothing and 80 winter coats for the veterans at Mather Hospital on October 27th just in time for the winter season.  They were warmly greeted by Maria Almes, Chief Voluntary Service, who accepted the coats and clothing.  She took pictures and thanked DAR for being great supporters of the veterans.

El Dorado Chapter’s successful fund raising campaign this summer was carried out by our Fundraising Chair, Betty Zurlinden, who collected donations from 20 plus generous merchants in the Placerville area.  Throughout the year, members gathered clothing which added to the total contribution.

The group wrapped up the working event with a chili and cornbread lunch.
