Chapter Chatter: El Dorado Chapter Daughter Margi Klein Named 2022 Senior of the Year

Each year in northern California, the El Dorado County Area Agency on Aging and the Commission on Aging sponsor the Senior of the Year award. The El Dorado Chapter members were both ecstatic and proud when this year’s recognition was awarded to Chapter Daughter, Margi Klein, during the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors meeting on May 17, 2022. Margi was presented with this prestigious award in recognition of her exemplary volunteer service in El Dorado County.

A DAR chapter member since 2004, Margi has been a past regent and has held many office and committee chair roles and is always generous with her time and support. Having established food pantries in six local schools, Margi has gathered and donated food and clothing for local children, veterans and for the overseas military. When she learned that some children had no books in their homes, she asked for a list of recommended children’s books from their teachers, and brought a book for every single child on the list. She has rallied for the community for numerous efforts such as helping to identify and record the veterans interred in a local historical cemetery.

Margi can be counted on to help in whatever way she can imagine. As one member describes, “She personifies the perfect member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.”

Congratulations for your well deserved recognition, El Dorado County Senior of the Year and El Dorado Chapter member Margi Klein!
