Chapter Chatter: Conejo Valley Chapter’s Wreaths Across America

Last year, the Conejo Valley Chapter members donated 63 wreaths in its first year of participating in the Wreaths across America program. The members managed to collect all the funds for the wreaths in just two short months. This year our chapter has already started collecting for the upcoming season and plan to participate in the placing of wreaths on December 19, 2020.

On Saturday, December 14, 2019 chapter members and their families attended the Wreaths across America ceremony at the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo. After the ceremony the members placed wreaths on the gravesites on veterans. Our members were moved by the experience: standing quietly, speaking the deceased veteran’s name out loud and placing a wreath on his grave.

The Wreaths across America mission is to Remember, Honor and Teach about our veterans. The goal is to place a holiday wreath on every Veteran’s grave throughout the country.

This treasured holiday tradition is a special one that the Conejo Valley Chapter members enjoy sharing.
