The Colonel William Cabell Chapter, Newport Beach, has received over 210 DAR American History Essay submissions this year! We will be presenting awards to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place Essay Winners in 5th thru 8th grade at a school award ceremony in May.

At this same ceremony, School Award Chairman Brooke Stewart, along with Chapter Regent Cheryl Odell and many chapter member volunteers will be presenting two $1000 scholarships, about 70 Youth Citizenship Awards,
approx. 50 Excellence in American History Awards, and five DAR Good Citizen Awards!

This is always a highlight of our chapter’s year; we’re looking forward to handing out both certificates and monetary awards to the students!
