Chapter Chatter: Alta Mira Chapter Presents Woman In American History Award

Louise Jackson, a Tulare County author and historian was presented the “Woman in American History” award at the 100th anniversary of Alta Mira Chapter.

Louise was recognized for her work in preserving the history of Tulare County. Upon retiring from a teaching career, she has devoted her time to researching, writing and volunteering for the Mineral King Preservation Society, Tulare County Historical Society, Three Rivers Historical Society and Tulare County Treasures. She oversees and produces the Mountain Connection exhibit at the County Museum. She has written several books including,” Visalia Electric Railroad”,” Mule Men: the story of stock packing in the Sierra Nevada”,” Mineral King: the story of Beulah”.
