Introducing “Miss Carol”

Miss CarolThe California State Room Committee is proud to introduce “Miss Carol.” She is an 18″ American Girl doll with a close resemblance to our State Regent Carol Jackson as a young girl, with her long dark brown hair and beautiful blue eyes.

As we know, Carol was born in Indiana, but did you know her family vacationed almost every year in Minnesota where she learned to fish? She also learned to play string bass, piano, accordion and tap dance as a young girl. It was one of her grandmothers who taught her bookkeeping and another who instilled the ideals of gracious hospitality. Every little girl needs pets too and Carol had two black cats and a dog.

Carol Jackson Girl“Miss Carol” is in need of a wardrobe to fill her luggage. It is the hope our seamstresses throughout California will create a beautiful wardrobe for her travels. If someone would like to contribute but does not sew, a purchased outfit would be wonderful! Please send to the Committee Chairman Linda Adams. Raffle tickets for “Miss Carol”, wardrobe, dog, luggage and other gathered gifts will be sold only at council meetings and at state conference. The winning ticket will be drawn at the March 2016 State Conference. Funds from this raffle will help maintain the CA State Period Room in Memorial Continental Hall.
