Announcement: VIS Committee – Chapter Public Websites and Future Offerings

As many of you are already aware, the VIS Committee is hard at work to resubmit all 115 chapter public websites for approval. This is due to the NSDAR guidelines being updated. Many of our chapters, having been submitted for approval prior to July 2020, are not currently in compliance. The State Society and the State Regent directly are responsible to ensure all chapter websites adhere to the guidelines and therefore have approved this task force to address this.

We are doing our best to communicate with you directly on the process and any changes that need to be made by your chapter webmasters once your chapter site is reviewed. A state VIS Committee member is also making changes on the back end for any items that you do not have access to change. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this massive undertaking. We will continue to submit chapters for review and are doing so at a rate of ten (10) chapters at a time.

We have just submitted the first round of 10 chapters, and we will continue to improve this review process as we work through getting all 115 chapters approved. If your chapter has a custom site, then your website changes will need to be done by your chapter VIS. There will be other administrative tasks we need to review with you during the process.

If you are a new chapter, or if you do not currently have an approved public website, then please know that it is our intention to create a basic site for your chapter to be approved in this endeavor. State Chair Jo Olson will be contacting you directly regarding this. Additionally, there are some improvements that the state VIS Committee would like to communicate and is preparing to roll out in 2021. There will be three webinars that we hope you will be able to attend. These are:

1) Road map for the Future- digital transformation projects, what this offering will be for chapters, and upcoming changes.

2) Chapter VIS/ Webmaster Connection- focusing on guideline changes, training, and communications.

3) New to VIS? Interested in joining the committee? -Training offerings and certifications that will be available. We are looking for committee members to help us grow. Projects and assignments both big and small.

If you are interested in attending any of these webinars, please join via the link on the Members’ Website under the VIS Committee page.

2021 is going to be an exciting year for us, and we hope you will join us. All webinars will be recorded and posted to the Members’ Website for you to view at your convenience.
