Announcement: Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service (VAVS)

The purpose of the Veterans Affairs Voluntary Service (VAVS) Program is to coordinate community resources and participate in the VA’s efforts to support and care for veterans. California has representatives and deputies serving in the Sacramento, Fresno, San Francisco, San Diego, Long Beach, Sepulveda, Loma Linda and Palo Alto Veterans Affairs VA Medical Centers.

The VAVS representatives and deputies have many responsibilities but key among them are reporting back to districts and chapters about events, needed donations, and opportunities to volunteer at sponsored events. Representatives and deputies also encourage district and chapter members to volunteer and support the VAVS Program at the medical and outreach centers.

All Chapter Regents are requested to disseminate this information to their chapter members. We understand that these are challenging times for everyone, but DAR is continuing to support veterans and these events while allowing members to participate as they feel safe and comfortable in doing so. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or concerns.

Thank you for all you do in Service for Veterans.
