The National DAR Day of Service, October 11th (on or around), is fast approaching! Many service projects and volunteer activities can be accomplished while social distancing. Suggestions include: Read to home schooled children or help with homework via Zoom, become a pen-pal to assisted living facility residents, write thank you notes to veterans, sew masks for students and teachers, and pick up trash while taking a walk.
Chapters are encouraged to send service project stories and photos to your State Co-Chairs and to darservicetoamerica@gmail.com and post to the Service to America Facebook page:
The Service to America Award for Outstanding National DAR Day of Service Project recognizes outstanding meaningful community service projects completed during the month of October in celebration of the National DAR Day of Service.
