Alta Mira Chapter held their annual Student Awards program on February 16, 2019.  Family, teachers, and administrators joined the chapter in honoring winners in the American History Essay contest as well as DAR Good Citizens award.

There were four winners in the American History contest and three DAR Good Citizens. Each student read their essay to the audience. Following the program refreshments were served. Chapter members had a chance to meet with the students to congratulate and encourage them.

The local paper covered the event and took pictures and placed the story on the front page of their next edition.
