State Regent’s Message: June 2015

Carole-FrameDear California Daughters,

Memorial Day marks the unofficial beginning of summer. In my Midwest tradition, we can now legally wear white shoes and white clothes until Labor Day.

It also marks the close of the DAR year for our chapters. We now look forward to the 124th Continental Congress in Washington DC, where the California Congressional Tea on Tuesday June 23rd will kick off the exciting week of celebrating 125 years of our National Society.

Mark your calendars for our 2015 September Council meetings, and plan to attend. Northern Council will be September 11-12 in Rancho Cordova at the Sacramento Marriott Rancho Cordova. Southern Council will be September 25-26 at the Los Angeles Airport (LAX) Marriott. It will be our time to Celebrate 125 years of DAR. Registration forms will be posted in August.

On the Friday night of Councils, plan to wear your finest attire from the 1890s to honor those who had the vision to establish our Society. Or you can wear your best Colonial costume, if you prefer. We will party like it’s 1890! In addition, it is when the candidates for the next CSSDAR administration will be introduced and have the opportunity to tell us more about themselves. That is always an exciting time.

As the first year of the Jackson administration comes to a close, allow me to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your incredible support of our programs and projects. I look forward to an exciting, successful second year.

California Daughters Rock!!
while we Celebrate Service…to God, Home, and Country.
