Chapter Chatter: Eel River Valley Daughters’ Day of Service

On October 12, 2019, Eel River Valley Daughters worked to verify grave locations in Fortuna’s oldest cemetery: Kenmar Pioneer Cemetery

Daughters checked to see that physical markers on the ground corresponded to Fortuna Cemetery District records. We found one grave whose inhabitant was born in 1786 – one year before the Constitution was ratified!

As the photo shows, a good time was had by all. Missing from the photo is the photographer, Regent Shirley Lipa.
