On June 18, 2018, President Donald Trump proposed the creation of a new United States Space Force. On January 19, 2019, Kent Keyser, husband of chapter member Shelly Keyser, spoke to chapter members and guests about the past and future of the U.S. space program.

We heard about the early days of NASA and the competition with Russia to be the first in space flight. He touched on the various technological requirements and support for space flight. He also spoke about the Space Force, and the need for it in light of national security risks in today’s world. He then answered questions, and brought posters and handouts related to U.S. Space Flight.
