Chapter Chatter: Chatsworth Chapter Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Chatsworth Chapter of Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley held a 20th Birthday Luncheon on December 5, 2018 at the Woodland Hills Country Club. Celebrating its anniversary, the enjoyable Roaring 20’s Art Deco occasion was attended by many costumed guests.

Named and organized on December 10, 1998, Chatsworth was honored with addresses by California State Regent Adele Lancaster and Honorary California State Regents Karon Jarrard and Beverly Moncrieff. Chapter Regent Sue MacLaurin read greetings from President General Ann Turner Dillon. State Corresponding Secretary Kristine Wood read greetings from Honorary President General Dorla “Deanie” Kemper and District VIII Director Penny Adams-O’Neill welcomed everyone.

A delicious luncheon was paired with a mystery show entitled “A Vintage Murder or Silenced at the Speakeasy” whereupon guests attempted to guess the culprit’s identity. Raffled were a beautiful art deco quilt created by Grace Munro; an art deco necklace made by associate member Beth Ullman; a State Regent’s Sea Star pin; and 24 attractive 1920s-style card boxes. Proceeds will be donated to CA State Regent Projects and Juniors.

Organizing Regent Pamela Meyers brought greetings and a taste of champagne toast, disguised in fancy teacups, to Chatsworth Chapter.
