Alta Mira Regent Deanna Pettus, Treasurer Delores Deathridge and Chaplain Norma Doyel manned the Alta Mira Chapter station at Porterville’s Butterfield Stage Day. This year marks the 21st year for this educational history event. Fourth grade students from all of Porterville and the surrounding areas gathered at Zalud Park to learn about early California history. Norma Doyel shared about her family being early settlers and demonstrated how to make a family tree. Delores Deathridge shared the history of the Butterfield Stage. Deanna Pettus shared about the local stage route through Tulare County.
