Chapter Chatter: John Greenleaf Whittier Chapter Visits CSSDAR Headquarters

On Monday, July 2, 2018, the John Greenleaf Whittier Chapter’s Executive Board met at the CSSDAR headquarters in Glendora for vision, planning and a tour of the headquarters.  It was an invigorating day for the attendees.

Among the many objectives we pursue, we look forward to implementing a beginning genealogy course at the Whittier Public Library.  Shiryl Boerlin will chair this program which will help our Members research additional descendants.

In September, Members and guests will tour the Marine Corps base at Camp Pendleton and visit the Iwo Jima Memorial.  During the past year, the Chapter has been collecting donations for the Memorial.  We are very proud to be supportive of this CSSDAR Project and of our Chapter’s 35-year Member Penny Brown, Past Regent, who is a descendant of William Pendleton!

In addition, we will continue to support the California Army National Guard units stationed in Jordan with gift boxes.

The Chapter Chairs of National Committees will present to the John Greenleaf Whittier NSDAR monthly meetings a National Defense Message and a Constitution Minute, to foster our true patriotism.
