CSSDAR Announcement: Historic Preservation Committee-Recognition Opportunities

In the past two years, several California chapters have submitted outstanding Historic Preservation projects and activities in their Chapter Master Reports. These chapter Historic Preservation projects and activities included some of the following:

– Support and maintenance of historic sites
– Marking locations of historical significance
– Honoring remarkable Historic Preservation volunteers
– Restoration of historical records, items, buildings, cemeteries, park areas, gardens, trails
– Research

Unfortunately, these Historic Preservation chapter projects and activities were not submitted for any of the following Historic Preservation honors:

– Historic Preservation Recognition Award
(NO TIMELINE FOR APPLICATION) HP-1006

– Historic Preservation Project Contest
(COMPLETED IN THE LAST TWO YEARS) HP-1002

– Historic Preservation Medal
(NO DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION) HP-1001

– Historic Sites and Properties Project Database
HP-1004

Please review the Historic Preservation reports that were submitted for your chapter in 2014 and 2015. Consider which category listed above best suits your chapter’s Historic Preservation activity, follow the instructions and submit your application to the appropriate person.
