Units Overseas Needs Your Support!

Regents, have you told your members about the benefits of becoming an associate member of an NSDAR chapter located somewhere else in the world?   Any DAR member in good standing can become an Associate Member of a Unit Overseas, and will find that to do so is very rewarding.

International members of 26 chapters in 14 countries are currently engaged in the work of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Daughters living outside the borders of the United States have advanced the NSDAR mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism since 1897 when the first overseas chapter was organized in Hawaii.  The newest chapter, Mariana Islands Chapter in Tamuning, Guam, was confirmed April 2012. Overseas chapters are actively seeking new members and associate members.
By becoming an Associate Member of a Unit Overseas you are giving your monetary support through the minimal dues charged by the overseas chapter, and you can share your experiences about the work of DAR with members of the unit.  These units love hearing from Daughters stateside.  Several California members have become associate members of the unit in Japan that supports programs for the children affected by the 2011 tsunami.  Others have joined the Palatinate Chapter in Germany to help the chapter with projects for active duty military stationed at Ramstein Air Base. Each overseas chapter supports worthwhile projects in its local area.  Most have a newsletter where you can read about the projects and activities in which they are participating.

Units Overseas Daughters are American members who live in a foreign country. You can read about them, their chapters, and their activities by going to the DAR Members’ website http://members.dar.org/committees/Units/ The menu on the left of the home page will allow you to choose subjects. Browse any chapter to learn about what that chapter is up to.
There is an application form you can use to become an associate member. The form provides information regarding where to send your application and amount of dues.

Your support of these vital Units Overseas is greatly appreciated!
