California Pouch Cottage Alignment – July 2013 Tamassee Alignment

Happy Summer to Everyone!

Well, the children are boat riding today thanks to our friends of the Lake Keowee Boating Association.   For the past few summers, boat owners from the nearby lake devote a day to taking our children for boat rides out into the beautiful lake. In the middle of the ride, they stop in a cove and swim or slide down the shoals to cool off…..Afterwards, they enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park shelters. The children love this adventure and for many of them it is their first boat ride. The “skippers” generally let each child on their vessel take a turn driving it…..What a great day it is for the kids and the boaters.

Two of our California Pouch boys represent Tamassee DAR School at Continental Congress and they had a wonderful experience. Thank you to everyone who stopped by the table and showed their support. During the School’s Supper, three of our young cloggers from New York Cottage danced for those in attendance. They practiced so hard that their ankles were sore and developed little blisters as they prepared. We are very proud of their courage and determination and hope everyone in attendance enjoyed their performance. Our New York Cottage Teaching Parent, Miss Amy Shepard was fortunate enough to attend Continental Congress with the entourage and had a wonderful experience as well.

We hope you are following campus activities on Facebook and enjoying the posts and the photos. We are now making plans for Founders’ Day on October 9, 10th and invite you all to join us! The Schedule of Events and Registration forms are available on our website.
