Registrar’s Workshop August 10th in Eureka

Northern daughters will be buzzing around Eureka on August 10th, the date the State Society will host a fifth traveling workshop, designed for chapter regents, registrars and assistants / trainees, chapter membership teams, volunteer genies, lineage researchers and anyone who is interested in learning more about DAR’s membership process. Mark your calendars now to join us!

We are reaching out to Northern California Daughters, especially those who live in the far north. The workshop will be held at the Humboldt Area Foundation Community Center in the Humboldt Area Foundation, Emerson Room, 363 Indianola Road, Bayshore, CA (just north of Eureka), 707-442-2993. It is located north of Eureka, taking the Indianola Road off-ramp from Highway 101. The workshop runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

State Regent Debbie Jamison will be with us, as well as the State Registrar, State Organizing Secretary, State Lineage Research Chairman, State Membership Chairman, and State Volunteer Genie Chairman. This promises to be a fun-filled day of sharing and education on the evolving responsibilities of chapter and district registrars, the role of membership teams and lineage researchers, changes in both State and National procedures, “how to” sessions, and exchange of information among ourselves on what is working well and what is not working so well in our chapters. This session has been planned for Northern California Daughters who live in the far north, with a special invitation to any member in our state who couldn’t make it to the initial workshops in Glendora, Fresno, Elk Grove, or Valley Center.

Please bring a “brown bag” lunch and RSVP to registrar@californiadar.org, or call Bev Moncrieff at 530-274-9710, to advise that you are attending. Snacks, dessert, and water will be provided.

If you plan to stay overnight to enjoy a summer coastal weekend, local Daughters make the following suggestions for accommodations:
