NSDAR has sent notification that Honorary President General Sarah McKelley King passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Mrs. King’s DAR Service included: Honorary President General, 1986; President General, 1983-1986; Curator General, 1971-74; and Tennessee State Regent, 1968-71.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening, February 22, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Central time, at Woodfin Chapel, 1488 Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37130, 615-893-5151. The funeral will be held Saturday, February 23, at 11:00 am, at First United Methodist Church, 265 W. Thompson Lane, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.

You may honor Mrs. King’s memory by making donations to the Sarah McKelley King Fund which supports the many programs and projects made possible through the General Fund. Please send your donations to the NSDAR Office of Development, 1776 D Street, NW, Washington, DC 20006 and make your check payable to the Office of Treasurer General, noting the Sarah McKelley King Fund name on the memo line. The family will be notified of your generosity.
