Moving All Websites to the State Server

On January 2, 2013, we will begin the process of moving all remaining chapters to the State hosting server with hostgator.com.

During the move, you will have the option of keeping your existing url (and just repointing to the new subdomain) or switching to a subdomain. An example of a subdomain would be: clarabarton.californiadar.org

If your chapter’s website is being hosted anywhere other than on the State server (you can tell this by checking your url. If you have “californiadar.org” in your url, you don’t need to do a thing.), you will need to move to the State server. If your current site is already approved by National, you will not be required to change your site to a template or make any other changes for now. Eventually, you may be asked to make some content updates so that we ensure prospectives are seeing the same basic information from chapter to chapter.

If your site is not yet approved, but is live, you will be required to get it up to National’s standards so that we may submit for approval.

Please note: Some of you may have hosting contracts expiring before the end of the year and need to move sooner. No problem! Just let me know and we’ll get you moved sooner.

Please don’t hesitate to call or email with any questions.
