Marilyn Rauzi, District Director, Donna Wallis, 1st Vice Regent, Iris Samuel, 2nd Vice Regent, Sheri Fenley, Regent, Shirley Smith, Treasurer, Shelline Klingenfuss, Registrar

The El Toyon Chapter in Stockton dedicated a historical marker to honor Kit Carson. The marker was placed on the site, where on March 26, 1844, the Fremont Expedition led by Carson as a scout, made camp on their way back home after successfully mapping a good portion of the West. El Toyon Chapter is committed to keeping history alive not only for the residents of San Joaquin County, but for the entire state of California. The identification and marking of historical landmarks gives the community a sense of pride and encourages their participation in historic preservation.
