Cahuilla Chapter in Palm Springs held its annual Student Awards Tea honoring winners of the American History and DAR Good Citizens Essay Contests. Two JROTC cadets were honored from local high schools along with other students who were recognized for their participation in the essay contests.

Also that day recipients of the DAR Good Citizens Award and Outstanding Work in American History Award received their certificates and medals.  The Student Awards Tea has been a tradition of the chapter for 40 years.The speaker was John Marman who is a retired instructor at College of the Desert and currently serves as a trustee on the Junior College’s board.Chapter Chairmen for the event were Susan Oster, DAR Good Citizens, and Cynthia Cottrell, American History Essay.
