Chapter Chatter: General John A Sutter New Member Induction

September generally brings excitement as we resume our chapter meetings after a short summer break. However, due to Covid-19, we are faced with continuing where we left off in May with Zoom meetings.

The Daughters of the General John A Sutter Chapter felt new members deserved more than a swearing in ceremony via Zoom. In an effort to truly celebrate the occasion, On August 29, 2020, an induction ceremony was held in a beautiful outdoor venue that allowed for proper social distancing, with all present wearing masks. A video was taken of the ceremony and it will be presented during our September Zoom chapter meeting.

We were blessed to have our new members sworn in by State Regent Susan Broderick, who is also a General John A Sutter Chapter Daughter. New members were given a handmade patriotic mask, a tote bag, an information packet with a variety of goodies, and flowers. The event was so successful, we will be repeating it in September to accommodate additional new members and those who were unable to join us for our inaugural outdoor event.
