Chapter Chatter: El Redondo Chapter Honors DAR Good Citizens & JROTC

At the February El Redondo Chapter meeting the membership witnessed an example of hope for America. The character and accomplishments of nine young Americans was on display. DAR Good Citizens Awards Chair Patricia Kelly introduced the six recipients of those awards and presented their certificates and summarized their amazing accomplishments and future plans.

JROTC Awards Chair Nancy Connell introduced the recipients of the JROTC Awards as well as their training officers who stood with them. Their families in attendance were also recognized as were some of the high school counselors who assisted in the selections.

The Good Citizens Awardees were selected from six local high schools: El Segundo, Bishop Montgomery, Redondo Union, Mira Costa, North, and Da Vinci Communications. The JROTC awardees attend Redondo Union, Bishop Montgomery and North High Schools.  The Redondo Union H.S. JROTC Color Guard under the direction of CWO Keith Willoughby participated in the opening ceremony.
