Chapter Chatter: El Redondo Ladies Attend CSSDAR Victorian Christmas Tea

Twenty ladies from the El Redondo Chapter attended the annual CSSDAR Victorian Christmas Tea held at the Glendora headquarters on December 14, 2019.  The chapter acted as one of the host chapters from District XIII.

Thanks to efforts by Past Regent Fran Bock, the ladies were provided a bus trip for the event. For some it was a first experience to visit the unique 4,200 square foot craftsman-style home that contains beamed ceilings, San Gabriel River rock, leaded glass and handmade hardware and fixtures. In 1982 the CSSDAR purchased the home to use as its headquarters.

The early arrival of the bus allowed time to check out the State Regent’s project table, chat with friends from other chapters (including District XIII Director Karin Amour), listen to Christmas carols played by local musicians and to stroll a grounds area known as the Oak Lea. During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were given to representatives from the Marines and the musicians. Also, a large donation was given to a representative from the Gary Sinise Foundation.

The bus travel, the tea, the building and grounds, the ceremony and the camaraderie provided a memorable day!
